We are very proud of our successful start of our new school year. Our success hinges on the support and positive relationships between teachers, students and parents, so I encourage parents to take advantage of the opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher Parent Teacher Conferences.
Conferences are our opportunity to strengthen our relationship and partnership with each other. Parent-Teacher conferences are scheduled for September 14th and 15th. During conferences, teachers will share 1st Quarter grades, benchmark data, and other general information on classroom performance.
Teachers in 3rd-5th grades may recommend intersession classes in Math and/or Reading which will be offered during our break, starting on September 25th. The curriculum will focus on Arizona College and Career Ready Standards of the grade level. In addition to providing additional learning opportunities, these classes help students meet the requirements of the Districts’ Raising Expectations Policy, if necessary. Math will take place from 8:00-11:00 a.m. and Reading from 11:30-2:30 p.m. Bus transportation will be provided. Please contact your child’s teacher for more information on either of these classes.
With the increasing emphasis on academic standards, we count on your support for us to be successful. I urge you to stay informed of your child’s academic progress through involvement in Parent-Teacher Conferences and to take advantage of the tutoring programs or Intersession classes as necessary. I look forward to continuing to work with parents and celebrating our future successes.
