Amanda Middendorf – Fourth Grade Teacher

I was born in Augsburg, Germany and moved around a lot until my family retired to Sierra Vista, AZ. When I was growing up, I was always involved with school activities be it volunteering with elementary students, tutoring, or coaching swimming. Through these experiences, my love for teaching blossomed.

I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education and an English as a Second Language certificate. During my time at NAU, I was involved with a program that gave me many hours, in many grade levels interacting and teaching students prior to student teaching. This experience gave me many different opportunities to work with diverse students. This will be my fifth year teaching at Sycamore and I couldn’t be more excited about it. I am also an advisor for Sycamore’s Engineering Club that focuses on different engineering tasks and working as a team. I also work with Sycamore’s Girl on the Run Team during the fall and spring seasons.

My goal this year is to provide your students with a caring and nurturing environment that is conducive to learning. I will provide different experiences that help students understand that learning takes place anywhere and everywhere. I also believe that communication between families, community members, and school staff are key elements to helping student succeed.

I am so excited to create memories with your student this year!
