Cara Graham

I am thrilled about joining the Sycamore fourth grade team this year.  I have been substitute teaching in the Vail School District at all grade levels for about a year, and fell in love with the teaching profession.  I am looking forward to consistently connecting with one group of students, and fourth grade is one of the most rewarding ages.
Sycamore has a remarkably supportive staff and it is my pleasure to join one of the best teams.

I am an Indiana native, receiving my bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and a doctorate degree in Audiology from Ball State University.  I have practiced as an audiologist for 14 years, working four of those years part time in children’s ministry.  I bring many skills with me into the teaching profession from my healthcare background as well as my work with children.

I am an enthusiastic hard worker, and I hope to instill those character traits in my students.  I have a love of the Vail School District, and specifically moved to this area because Vail has such a solid reputation.  My two daughters, a 7th grader and 4th grader are also part of the district.

I hope that my classroom reflects my love of lifelong learning and portrays to each child who is entrusted to me that they are one-of-a-kind, and each have something valuable to offer.  As a mother, I do not take this job lightly, and I look forward to connecting with each fourth grader.  I maintain an open door policy and would like nothing more than to partner with parents to ensure the academic success of their child.
