I grew up in Missouri and knew early on that I wanted to be a teacher. After graduating with my Bachelors in Education, I went on to teach at the same school where I first went to school. I have been in the education field for over 17 years in a variety of roles including substitute teacher, paraprofessional, classroom teacher, and curriculum writer. After a detour to upstate New York for a few years, I moved to Vail in 2005 when my husband was transferred to the area with his job. When our daughter began Kindergarten here at Sycamore, I became involved as a parent volunteer and remembered just how much I missed teaching in the classroom. This will be my third year here at Sycamore and my first with my own Kindergarten classroom.

Outside of the classroom, I run a small photography business, read anything I can get my hands on, and enjoy spending time with my family and our greyhound. Our daughter will be a third grader here at Sycamore this year. We also enjoy exploring the Tucson area, going to the movies, and are avid baseball fans. Go Cardinals!

I am so excited to be returning to my love of teaching and helping your Kindergarten students succeed and love school here at Sycamore! It is my hope to create a nurturing, encouraging environment where your child can blossom and grow into confident, caring, and respectful learners. I believe the greatest growth can occur when the parents and teachers can work together to help their students learn. I look forward to learning more about you and your child and working with them this year at Sycamore!
