Melissa Wright – Fourth Grade Teacher

I am an Arizona native, born in Phoenix, Arizona. I have lived in Vail, Arizona since 1995. I have three amazing daughters and an awesome granddaughter who just turned 3. Both my older girls went through Vail School District and graduated from Empire High School in 2009 and 2012. My youngest daughter will begin her Sophomore year at Empire High School and will graduate in 2020.

I decided to go back to school when my youngest daughter started kindergarten here at Sycamore. It was then that I realized my passion is being in the classroom working with children. In May of 2013 I graduated from Northern Arizona University. I am excited to begin my fifth year of teaching fourth grade here at Sycamore Elementary.

I am excited to be the advisor for the Wright Flight program this upcoming year at Sycamore. My two older daughters both participated in the program and I am looking forward to being a part of this program for other students and their families.

I believe in a learning environment that cultivates learning for all students. I want my students to feel comfortable in the classroom so that they will be able to relax, focus, and achieve their goals. I feel strongly that positive relationships between teacher, students, and parents are essential to the growth of a student’s success, so my door is always open.
