Patricia Dorgan – Title One Reading Teacher

I moved to Tucson when I was 13 and graduated from Canyon Del Oro High School. A few years after that, I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree from The University of Arizona. Then I went back to school and earned my Master’s Degree from Northern Arizona University, as well as my Reading Specialist Certification. I accepted my first teaching position fifteen years ago in the Vail School District. I spent my first year teaching 2nd Grade at Acacia Elementary and then last fourteen years have been here at Sycamore Elementary. I taught 2nd Grade and 3rd Grade for thirteen years before moving to Title One Reading.

I really enjoy the Vail Community, and have had wonderful opportunities over the years. Some of these include tutoring after school in both Math and Reading, teaching Intersession during breaks, hosting Reading Counts Family Nights, being a cooperating teacher for student teachers, and being a member of Site Council.

In my Title One classroom, I strive to teach every child to work to the best of their abilities. I also work hard to ensure that each child feels successful and is provided with a wonderful learning experience.
