I am so very excited to be Sycamore’s SUMS (Students Understanding Math and Science) teacher. This will be my tenth year teaching at Sycamore. I have been teaching SUMS for the past four years, and I am looking forward to an amazing fifth year exposing our students to the fun that they can have with math and science. I have also had the privilege to have taught fifth grade for five years.
I have lived in Tucson, AZ my whole life, and love it here. I attended Sahuaro High School, and graduated in 2004. I then went on to study at the University of Arizona, and earned my Bachelors in Elementary Education in 2008. In 2010 I completed my Masters of Education with an emphasis on Curriculum and Technology. When I am not at school, I like to spend time with my husband Matt, our daughter, Layla, and our little boy Landon. We also have a seven year old miniature dachshund named Bailey. I enjoy playing soccer, reading, and family trips.
My goal as a teacher is to always provide a caring, positive, and safe classroom environment for all of my students. I believe that students learn best when feeling confident, challenged, and fully supported. I look forward to another great year introducing students to the world of math and science. Thank you for letting me be a part of your family.
