I was born and raised in the Bay Area before moving to Tucson with my family. It took me a long while to learn to like the desert, but slowly and surely, it became my home. I attended the U of A hoping to achieve a degree in Criminal Justice. One semester before my graduation, I had a big change of heart! I started studying Elementary Education. It didn’t take me long to realize that I made the perfect choice. I spent my first year teaching in TUSD and then transitioned to the Vail School District.
This will be my second year here at Sycamore. The environment and support from the community here in Vail, is one of a kind. I am happy to say, I’ve found my home. I believe in a positive and open classroom environment where my students can come to expect trust, structure, and an engaging learning experience. My goal is to get to know each of my students on a personal level. I believe that knowing a students wants, needs, struggles and goals, is the key to ensuring their best learning.
When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my husband, family, or friends. Fitness is a big part of my life! I enjoy hiking, running with my dog Rowdy, and going to the gym. I also enjoy reading, cleaning and organizing, shopping, and trying new restaurants. I am grateful to be working at such a wonderful site, and can’t wait to create memories with your students this year.
