I was born and raised in the Bay Area before my family moved to Tucson when I was 13. It took me a long while to learn to like the desert, but slowly and surely, Tucson became my home. I graduated from Marana High, then attended the U of A hoping to achieve a degree in Criminal Justice . One semester before my expected graduation, I had a big change of heart! I started studying Elementary Education, and could not have been happier with this choice!
I student taught in second grade, then decided to teach third grade at the same school. This year will be my first year in the Vail School District! I am so excited to join this amazing district and the welcoming family of educators at Sycamore. I believe in a positive and open classroom environment where my students can come to expect trust, friendship, and an engaging learning experience. My goal is to get to know each of my students on a personal level. I believe that knowing a students wants, needs, struggles and goals, is the key to ensuring their best learning.
When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my dog Rowdy, my husband, my family, or my friends. Fitness is a big part of my life! I enjoy hiking, running with Rowdy, and going to the gym. I also enjoy reading, cleaning and organizing, shopping, and crafting. I am very excited for the experience I am about to embark on here !
